Gantz Buys Land

The Devoss House
The historic Devoss house in Harrisburg was built by the first mayor of the village, Dr. Joseph Helmick. Harrisburgh (with an “h”) was originally settled by Elijah and Rachel Chenoweth. Jim Henry, an artist for The Pike County News-Watchman, created this sketch about the Chenoweth home when the family lived on the Pee Pee Prairie near Piketon.
