Ox Roast 1946
Can anyone identify this ox roast scene from 1946. The sign in the background seems to read “Grove City Community Recreation Co???” Could that have been a scene along Park Street?
Harrisburg Mill
Sawmills and grist mills were common in Southwest Franklin County at one time in history. The oldest to survive was the Grove City Farmers Exchange. A mill at Harrisburg produced Glad Tidings flour and the Grove City Milling Company offered Well Maid Flour to its customers. This 36-page booklet is a must read. Arts in the Alley Badge
Volunteers at Arts in the Alley once wore these badges to identify them in the crowds of people milling around during the festival. This Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce badge showcased The Hair Shop on Columbus Street. The year was 1980.
