Corn Boys Tour

William H. Grassley of Grove City attended the Corn Boys Tour in Washington, D.C and New York City in 1917. The local Chamber of Commerce raised $50 to help with his expenses. In 2014, Mark List, retired deputy director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, came forward with additional information on the Corn Boys. While visiting Jackson, Ohio, List purchased an old framed photograph at an antique shop. The picture showed the boys and girls who attended the Ohio Corn Boys and Domestic Science Girls tour a year before Grassley’s trip.
